Hi, I am Vanessa
I am the Head of Marketing at Salesforce Switzerland and a founder of the non-profit organisation, Bring Women Back to Work.
As a mother of two, I experienced first-hand the challenges that navigating career and personal life can bring to a woman. As a leader in tech, I witnessed companies struggling to find diverse, committed talent. Here, in this challenge, I saw a unique opportunity that became my mission and morphed into what Bring Women Back to Work is today.

My Mission

Supporting the individual needs of employees must be the core value of every organisation. A thriving workforce is the heart and fuel of business growth.
Women are underrepresented in almost all industries
Women often face challenges when trying to re-enter the workforce after extended career breaks. These challenges can stem from a lack of confidence in their skills and abilities, as well as difficulties in balancing work with personal life.
At the same time, women are significantly underrepresented in almost every Industry including STEM. This is unfortunate because, as a mother, I have found that the tech field offers excellent opportunities for flexible work, making it easier to manage personal and professional responsibilities. In my opinion, it is an ideal environment for working mothers. Additionally, the tech industry could greatly benefit from the diverse talents that women bring to the workforce.
Our NGO, Bring Women Back to Work, is dedicated to helping women acquire new skills and find meaningful job opportunities in many different Industries.

Companies struggle to find and retain motivated, diverse talent
Finding and retaining a diverse, motivated workforce is a challenge that a lot of companies face. Companies often engage in talent wars and try to motivate their employees with compensation alone, which does not ensure loyalty or retention.
Companies need to shift their mindsets and understand that employees are at the heart of their business growth. Without vibrant, diverse, motivated teams that drive their company forward, their business can never fully thrive.
No product or idea can be successful unless there are people behind it who will make it successful. You can have the best technology, but the technology is only useful if you have the right people that use it, believe in it, and sell it.
